RSM Classic 2023: Pre-Race Outlook


The RSM Elite Championship is the final tournament of the 2022-23 U.S. Tour season and a player’s last chance to qualify for the 2024 season. The FedExCup Fall Series features seven events in the upcoming season, with the top 50 players automatically qualifying and 51-60 players earning “Next 10” status, which includes the right to play in two select events.

Qualifying for the next Top 10 tournament is very important for players as it provides them with more consistent play and higher prize money. Currently, Nick Hardy is ranked 56th and Alex Smalley is ranked 57th and they will both be playing in this week’s tournament. If they perform well, they will have a chance to be promoted to the Next 10.

Ludwig Abegg strives for first win
Ludwig Abegg is one of the favorites to win this week’s race. He has been in great form recently, with seven consecutive top 15 finishes, including a runner-up finish in the Sanderson Farms Championship. If he can break through in this week’s tournament, he will be in with a chance of securing his first US Tour title.
